Circulation
All users with a valid Library Borrower's Card are entitled to charge out materials from the Library. Please check your borrowing privileges and other information regarding circulation services.
Reference
Library staff on duty at the counter will answer general questions about the use of the Library. Enquiries may also be made by phone (3917 2218), fax (2549 9653) or Email-a-Librarian

PC & Mac Station
The Music Library offers three PCs and three iMacs with Internet connection and software applications in support of study and academic research. Reservations can be made online.

Listening & Viewing
Multimedia Station includes DVD, Blu-ray, CD, cassette players and TV monitors. A turntable and headphones are available upon request. No booking is required.

Individual study tables are set up along glass windows with table top power sockets. See Booking Policy
Laptop Loaning Service
Laptops, tablets and Macbooks are available for short loan at the circulation counter of the Music Library for use anywhere on campus. See Laptop/ Tablet/ Mackbook Loaning Program
Photocopying and Printing
To support learning, the Library provides photocopier/printer to library users. When library users are using the facilities and services, they should comply with the Copyright Law and Guidelines. Hard copies are posted on the photocopier/printer in the Library.
Self-service photocopier/printer (B&W / Colour) are operated on a quota-based system, uPrint, in the Library.
Details of Self-service Photocopying and Printing Services
Library users holding valid HKU cards can use an Octopus card to purchase printing units in an Add Value Machine that is located on the desk next to Self-check Station in the Library. The minimum cost is HK$30 for 100 units. Octopus Card add-value service is available at the Information Counter. uPrint App (HKU staff/students only) is another option.

A PC for Express printing is located in the Networked and Wireless printing Corner.
Library users can also send print jobs to the printer from their portable computers via WiFi, please connect using "HKU" (for users with HKU portal login).

Wireless Environment
The Library has wireless hotspots that cover all seating area. Users can connect to the Web with their notebook computers.
Research Consultation Service
User Education
Library orientation programmes are organised for new students. Other library courses are also scheduled for undergraduate and postgraduate students on request.
Book Drop
The book drop is located outside the entrance of the Music Library for return of books ONLY.
The following materials must be returned in person to the service counter from where they were first checked out:
- scores and multimedia materials from the Music Library
- items from Special Collections and AV & Reserve Collection
- multimedia materials and items with loan periods of 14 days or less
- items from Interlibrary Loans, UGC Libraries and HKALL items
For materials cleared every day at opening time, return date will be adjusted to the previous working day. The Library will not be responsible for damages or loss of materials in the book drop. Overdue books are also subject to fines.
