HKU Students / HKU Staff / HKU SPACE staff  

HKU Portal UID and PIN are distributed upon admission registration.  The Portal account provides single sign-on to University services and facilities, including the Libraries.  Find out more about HKU Portal UID and PIN.

• New HKU Students or Staff

Your library account will be ready in 1-2 days after the Registry issues you the student/ staff card.  Please seek assistance from the Enquiries Counter of the Main Library if you fail to login several days after card issuance.

• Card replacement

If you have your card replaced and yet fail to login to the library, please bring your new student/ staff card to the Enquiries Counter of the Main Library for an account update.

• Current HKU Staff with no HKU Account

Please apply for a HKU Account from the Information Technology Services.  

 

 

 

Honorary / Adjunct / Visiting Appointees

Departmental email account provides single sign-on to University services and facilities, including the Libraries.

• Current Honorary / Adjunct / Visiting Appointees without Departmental email account

Please apply for a Departmental Honorary Appointee Account via your departmental administrator through the Honorary Appointments System in HKU Portal. 

 

 

JULAC Card Holders

 

Library Card Number is composed of a university prefix followed by your student/staff number, e.g. CU1234567.  Personal Identification Number (PIN) of your account ranges from 10 to 20 characters composing at least 2 of the following 3 categories: (i) Letters (A-Z, a-z), (ii) Digits (0-9), (iii) Special characters (e.g. $, #, %).

Other Library Users (HKU SPACE Students / Part-time Tutors, Alumni and Circle of Friends)

 

Library Card Number is printed on your library card / Facilities Access Card (FAC). Personal Identification Number (PIN) ranges from 10 to 20 characters composing at least 2 of the following 3 categories: (i) Letters (A-Z, a-z), (ii) Digits (0-9), (iii) Special characters (e.g. $, #, %).
