Application

• New application: Applicants without a Facilities Access Card can select the pick-up location of card. The applicant will be (i) received the card by post or (ii) in person at the Enquiries Counter on the 2/F of the Main Library. Please check service hours for card collection.
• Renewal application: Applicants will be notified by email upon successful application.
• Non-profit institution must provide proof of its non-profit institutional status upon application or renewal.
• If an application is incomplete or not successful, the applicant will receive a cancellation email with further instructions.

*Those having applied for a HKUL card during their study at HKU SPACE / Centennial College.

Notes:

1. Access to the selected e-resources may be changed by the vendors of HKUL without prior notice. It may be used for the purposes of research, education or other non-commercial use only.
2. Some of the licensed e-resources are restricted to current HKU staff, students and/or SPACE users.
3. The Librarian may also temporarily exclude a category or categories of users due to health or safety concerns. Extensions or refunds during temporary exclusions will apply.

Terms and Conditions

1. All applicants must be at least 16 years of age.
2. An individual is entitled to the borrowing privileges of one user category only.
3. The above fee schedule and card validity may be reviewed and changed by the University Libraries regularly as needed.
4. A fee of $150 will be levied for the replacement of lost or damaged card. Card replacements should be completed on-site or by cheque.
5. Library charge and facilities access card fee including card replacement fee are non-refundable and non-transferable.
6. All members must abide by the policies, rules and regulations of the Libraries.
7. User's access to and use of licensed databases are governed by the terms and conditions in the agreements made between the Libraries and the licensors. Any use of the databases by means of the user's library account signifies user's acceptance of such terms and conditions. Authorized use is limited to educational purposes and the scholarly research of the user. Access to these resources may be changed by the University Libraries without prior notice.
8. The information provided will be used for Circle-of-Friends-related and HKU-Libraries-related purposes.
