Access to E-Resources – notice to Kaspersky users
Q: User sometimes got “The file is damaged and could not be repaired” error message when downloading PDF files from ezproxied site
Q: User sometimes got “The page cannot be displayed” error message when clicking on back button, select other date options and submit search again at the ezproxied WiseNews site
A: Set up Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10 or antivirus software to not apply Web Antivirus scanning to EZProxy’s sites by clicking on
Settings tab > Anti-Virus protection > Web Anti-Virus > Settings button > Trusted URLs tab > Select the option “Do not scan web traffic from trusted URLs:” > Add button
and adding the following values:
eproxy.lib.hku.hk/*
*.eproxy1.lib.hku.hk/*
*.eproxy2.lib.hku.hk/*
Ensure the added URLs are selected. Click on OK and save button.
