Ko Wong Wai Ching Wendy Fine Arts Digital Library

Generously supported with a donation from Professor Norman Ko Wah Man, an HKU Honorary Fellow and a distinguished alumnus of HKU Faculty of Engineering (1963), HKU Libraries will establish the Ko Wong Wai Ching Wendy Fine Arts Digital Library on the 3rd floor of the Main Library (Old Wing). Professor Ko has dedicated the Fine Arts Digital Library to his late wife, Mrs. Wong Wai Ching Wendy, a distinguished schoolteacher and a passionate supporter of arts.

The aim of the Library is to offer an 'empty' space and cave-like environment. This concept implies that man in an emptiness environment starts searching for knowledge. The artworks on walls, on columns, and on the ceiling serve to stimulate a deeper understanding and appreciation for fine arts. This is Professor Ko's hypothesis: within a void environment, individuals will embark on a quest for knowledge, purpose, and passion.
