Sustainable Development Goals<\/strong> Exhibition<\/strong><\/p>\n

In support of Earth Day 2021 and in collaboration with The University of Hong Kong Common Core and Women\u2019s Research Studies Centre, the Main Library is pleased to support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by coordinating the Sustainable Development Goals <\/em>exhibition at the 2nd<\/sup> Floor Atrium\/Exhibition Area of the Main Library from 21 April \u2013 9 May 2021.<\/p>\n

The Member States of the United Nations adopted the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by General Assembly resolution A\/RES\/70\/1 of 25 September 2015. The resolution aims to achieve these seventeen goals by 2030 to end all forms of poverty, fight inequalities and tackle climate change while ensuring that no one is\u00a0left behind.<\/p>\n

Each of the seventeen goals are highlighted at the Global Level<\/em>, in Hong Kong<\/em>, Actions at HKU<\/em> and most importantly What You Can Do<\/em>.<\/p>\n

To complement the exhibition and signify the Libraries\u2019 collaboration with the HKU Edible Spaces in the Library Bird and Butterfly Garden near the main entrance, a selection of library books will be on display and compiled into an electronic ReadingList providing information on gardening, birds and butterflies in the garden and permaculture. A label can be found on most the plants in the Garden with its name and a QR code which leads visitors to a relevant website for educational information.<\/p>\n

The SDG exhibition banners, ReadingLists, Workshops and Actions at HKU are also available on the dedicated website HKU Libraries and SDGs \u2013 Sustainable Development Goals<\/em>. https:\/\/www.hkulsdg.hku.hk<\/p>\n
