HKU Libraries – Preservation Centre Open House

In celebration of International Preservation Week, we are thrilled to invite you to the Preservation Centre’s open house event on May 3rd, 2024. Since its establishment in 2010, the Preservation Centre has been devoted to preserving and conserving library and archive collections, ensuring their longevity and accessibility for present and future patrons.

At the open house event, you will have the opportunity to explore our book and paper conservation lab while learning about the significance and challenges of preservation and conservation work. Our conservators and technicians with diverse specialties will show you a wide range of conservation equipment, tools and techniques for treating rare books, manuscripts, archival documents, photographs, prints, drawings, and other works of art on paper.

This event is free of charge, open to all HKU student, staff, alumni, and the general public. Don’t miss this chance to gain a deeper understanding of safeguarding cultural heritage. We look forward to seeing you there!
