1. Terms of Use

1.1 License and Use

The University of Hong Kong staff and students are licensed to use software or materials made available through the GLAM Lab of HKU Libraries for education and research purposes of The University of Hong Kong.

1.2 Acceptance

Your use of our website and any material including audio, video, text, images, software, content and other materials made available through our GLAM Lab (The GLAM Lab materials) is subject to the following Terms & Conditions which you are licensed to use for education and research purposes of The University of Hong Kong.

1.3 Assignment

You must not assign, transfer or otherwise dispose of your rights under these Terms and Conditions without our prior written consent.

2. Copyright

a.   The GLAM Lab materials are either protected by the copyright and other intellectual property rights of third parties or that of HKU, or are materials made available in the public domain or under a Creative Commons (CC) license. For more details relating to the Copyright and Intellectual Property Rights of the HKU and HKU Libraries, you may refer to the policies and guidelines available on https://lib.hku.hk/copyright/cpr02.html.

b.   Users of any GLAM Lab materials bear the responsibility of making proper use of our materials in our collection for education and research purposes, and no commercial use.

c.   If you would like to use any GLAM Lab materials made available under a CC license for education and research purposes, you do not need to seek our permission; but to give proper attribution by providing the following notice: ©The University of Hong Kong under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0.

d.   If you wish to use any GLAM Lab materials for any purpose inconsistent with these Terms and Conditions, you must contact glamlab@hku.hk to seek permission in written application.

3. Notice and Takendown policy

3.1 Access and Changes of materials offerings

a.   We make additions to, deletions from or other changes to the GLAM Lab materials without notice at any stage if we deem this necessary or appropriate;

b.   We reserve the right to withdraw any materials in part or in full at any time without prior written notice.

3.2 Removal of content

In making the GLAM Lab materials available online the HKU Libraries acts in good faith. However, if a bona fide owner would like to request for a removal of any GLAM Lab materials, please contact us at glamlab@hku.hk and provide your contact details, full details of the concerned materials.
