Many of the library resources or services require authentication. These include online renewal or requests, accessing the e-forms, remote access to the electronic resources and others. Since 16 January 2006, the University Libraries has changed to a ONE login authentication environment.

 

 

What is my login ID and Personal Identification Number (PIN)? 

For HKU Students and Staff & HKU SPACE Staff

HKU Portal UID and PIN are distributed upon their admission registration. UID is also known as account name or username in HKU Portal. Staff members who do not have HKU account can apply for one from the Information Technology Services. Find out more about HKU Portal UID and PIN.

 

For JULAC Card Holders

Library Card Number is "Prefix of university name + Your student/staff number" which printed on JULAC card, for examples, CU1234567.

For Other Library Users (e.g. HKU SPACE Students / Part-time Tutors, Alumni and Circle of Friends etc.)

Login Problems

For New HKU Students or Staff Applying For Student/Staff Cards for the First Time

Your library account will be ready in 1-2 days AFTER you get your student/staff card from the Registry. If you have no card in hand, get your card first. Your portal account will be activated earlier than your library account. Please approach counter staff for help if you fail to login several days after issuing of your card.

For Current HKU Students or Staff Who Have Student/Staff Cards Changed

If you fail to login to your circulation record, your library account needs an update to reflect the change of your card. Please take your new student/staff card to the Enquiries Counter of the Main Library and request an account update due to change of card.

For HKU SPACE, Alumni, Circle of Friends and JULAC Card Holders

With the launch of the new library system on 17 July 2017, HKU SPACE, Alumni, Circle of Friends and JULAC card holders should reset their PIN first time they login after the Go Live date.  The new PIN will be effective immediately.  If you have forgotten your PIN, please approach Lending Services Counter for help.
