About the Speakers
Ms Shan Jin has been working at Queen's University Archive as a Records Analyst/Archivist since 2007. She earned a master degree of library and information studies from Dalhousie University, is a Certified Records Manager and a Certified Information Professional. She recently published an article called "Records Management in Canadian Universities” in ARMA Canada’s publication - Sagesse. She is also a contributor to several ARMA Technical Reports. About the Talk
Queen’s University, located in Kingston, Ontario, is one of Canada’s oldest degree-granting institutions in Canada established by Royal Charter of Queen Victoria in 1841. Today’s Queen’s University is a mid-sized university with more than 22,000 students and 8,000 faculty members and staff. In this talk, Ms Jin will give an introduction speech on Queen’s University Archives, its history, collections and services. Ms Jin will also discuss the relationship between archives programs and records management programs in Canadian universities and the impact of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act on publicly-funded Canadian Universities. |
