Off-campus Access

Some of the resources on the library's Web site such as Catalogues and Internet Resources, are open to the general public as well as members of the university. Licensed resources, such as the databases, e-books, e-journals, e-videos, however, have restricted access. In general, staff as well as currently enrolled HKU students are allowed full access. Circle of Friends Platinum Members can gain access to a selected collection.

Generally, user authentication is made through the EZProxy server which requires a Library Account. HKU staff and students should login with their HKU Portal UID and PIN. This is the same as the HKUCC/HKUSUA account names and passwords. This also applies to HKU SPACE staff holding a HKU Portal account. Other users (SPACE students, Alumni, Circle of Friends, distance learners in Mainland China and JULAC users) should login with their library card number and pin.
