Title: Surgical navigation for implant-supported auricular prosthesis with CAD/CAM technology
Abstract: Patients with defective ears try to hide their deformities and their quality of life (QoL) is frequently compromised without auricular prosthesis. Our hypothesis was that the use of computer aided design/computer aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) and rapid prototyping (RP) technology in the fabrication of implant-supported auricular prosthesis can improve treatment outcomes and QoL of such patients. Our over-all aims were to develop innovative CAD/CAM techniques and RP technology in the fabrication of implant-supported auricular prosthesis and provide improvement in their treatment outcomes and QoL. The research project was performed guided by individual aim to achieve innovation and advancement in scientific knowledge: 1. To compare the 3D accuracy of image-guided drillings between 2 navigation systems and to assess the inter-operator variability; 2. To present a new concept of visual axis maintenance in the fabrication of auricular prosthesis in a hemifacial microsomia patient wearing spectacles by using a combination of computer planning and CAD/CAM technology; 3. To present an innovative method of integrating image planning and surgical navigation in performing simulation implant surgery on stereomodels for pre-fabrication of auricular prosthesis; 4. To evaluate the accuracy of the surgical planning and implant placement on stereomodels; 5. To present a new method of implant-supported prosthetic ear fabrication composing of a RP framework simulating the cartilage and covered by different thicknesses of silicone skin; 6. To evaluate the treatment outcomes of prosthetic auricular rehabilitation using surgical navigation in implant placement and prosthetic fabrication with CAD/CAM technology in a clinical series. The presentation will present the material and methods, results and conclusion of the above aims.

Cancer is a class of disease or disorders characterized by uncontrolled division of cells and the ability of these cells to invade other tissues. One new approach in dealing with cancer is through apoptotic regulators, which is the process of controlling cell growth by abnormally prolonging cell survival, facilitating the accumulation of transforming mutations and promoting resistance. This book uses oral cancers as the specific means to demonstrate this technique with this particular type of cancer, which is quite prevalent (and deadly) in India and other parts of Asia, in particular.

Integrating Immigrant Youth: Transatlantic Perspectives
Having entered a country before or during a global economic crisis that remains acute in many areas, millions of young immigrants around the world face long-lasting setbacks in launching their careers and reaching their potential. Discrimination in the job market remains a major obstacle in many parts of Europe and the United States, affecting both immigrant youth and young people with an immigrant background. This article examines common challenges and factors influencing the development of local labor-market integration initiatives targeting immigrant youth, based on four city case studies conducted in the United States and the European Union.
The Gambia: Migration in Africa’s “Smiling Coast”
Economic turmoil has been a primary driver of emigration from The Gambia, located in West Africa and the smallest country on the African continent. Despite having a decades-old, extensive diaspora mainly in Spain, the United States, Nigeria, Senegal, and the United Kingdom, the Gambian government has only very recently begun to reach out to its citizens abroad. This article explores The Gambia’s migration history, emigration and immigration trends, remittances, economic impacts of skilled emigration, and recent efforts by the government to reach out to the Gambian diaspora.
