ProQuest upcoming maintenance on March 1, 2015

On March 1, 2015, ProQuest will be upgrading its systems infrastructure to improve performance, security, and overall reliability of the products. The window is scheduled to begin at 11 AM and will last for five  hours.

During this time, access to the ProQuest products listed below will not be available, and users will be re-directed to a webpage explaining the scheduled maintenance.

There is a upcoming maintenance on Emerald’s research platform, Emerald Insight, which is scheduled to take place on Saturday 31 January 2015, between 7 am and 11am. During this maintenance window, Emerald Insight will be unavailable for up to 1 hour. If you access the website during this time you will receive a ‘connection timeout’, or similar message, within your browser.

EBL Scheduled Downtime on January 25, 2015.

There is a scheduled downtime for EBL (http://library.hku.hk/record=b4671050) on Sunday, January 25, 2015.

This downtime is required to address a critical hardware issue on one database.

Downtime will be 2 – 4 hours on Sunday January 25, 2015 from 8:00 a.m.

South China Morning Post withdrawn from WiseNews 1 January 2015

As per the new arrangement between the publishers of South China Morning Post and WiseNews, SCMP will be withdrawn from WiseNews effective from 1st January 2015. Users can access the historic archive (from 1903 onward up to 10 years ago ) via ProQuest’s historical newspapers, and the current 10 years up to today via SCMP.com.

Publisher will be performing system maintenance on January 13 from 17:00 to 19:00.

During this period, all services of “Kikuzo II Visual for Libraries” will be unavailable.

The objective of the Journal of Extreme Events is to provide a forum for analysis of the occurrence, impact, and significance of extreme events on natural and human systems.
